About
The Cited is an independent editorial publication on Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
We exist because the discipline of GEO is, at present, dominated by guesswork — vendor marketing repackaged as analysis, anecdotes presented as evidence, and breathless predictions about "the future of search" with no underlying data.
Our mandate is simple: every article we publish must be backed by primary research, reproducible methodology, or first-hand technical analysis. If we don't have the data, we don't write the article.
What we publish
Articles fall into seven pillars: Foundations, Technical, Content Engineering, Measurement & Analytics, Brand & Behavior, Case Studies, and Pulse. Each pillar has a dedicated hub at our home.
Editorial principles
- Primary research over rerites.
- Methodology in the open. Every claim has a dataset.
- Reproducibility. You can repeat our experiments.
- No fluff, no clickbait. Signal-to-noise above all.
- Editorial independence. Affiliate and sponsor relationships disclosed.
- Update timestamps. Every article reviewed every 90 days.
- Bias for action. Every article ends with what to do next.
